January 1, Joe Rogan confronts CNN’s Sanjay Gupta over network ‘lying’ about COVID treatment

Podcast host Joe Rogan confronted CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, over the network’s coverage of ivermectin, accusing CNN of “lying.”

Rogan, who is not vaccinated, said he took ivermectin in addition to receiving monoclonal antibodies during his bout with the virus earlier this year.

Gupta was a guest on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” earlier this week. He told Rogan that he was glad he made a recovery.

“Thank you. You’re probably the only one at CNN who’s glad,” Rogan responded. “The rest of them are all lying about me taking horse medication.”

“That bothered you,” Gupta said.

“It should bother you too,” Rogan said. “They’re lying at your network about people taking human drugs versus drugs for [animals].”

Gupta conceded that referring to his treatment as “a ‘horse dewormer’ is not the most flattering thing.”

“It’s a lie on a news network,” Rogan replied. “And it’s a lie that they’re conscious of. It’s not a mistake. They’re unfavorably framing it as veterinary medicine.”

Rogan went on to specifically reference CNN’s Erin Burnett for referring to the treatment as a “livestock drug” with “glee.”

“It can be used for humans! I get it,” Gupta said. Later acknowledging “they shouldn’t have done that.”
