A majority of voters think that President Joe Biden should resign over his handling of the U.S.’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to a recent poll from Rasmussen Reports.

A survey of 1,000 U.S. likely voters took place between August 30-31, and 52% believe Biden should step down because of the withdrawal. 39% of respondents disagree, and 9% aren’t sure.

The new poll data comes amid reports of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) facing internal pressure from Republicans to further push the issue of impeachment. According to Politico, GOP congressional offices are reportedly being, “bombarded with calls from base voters for a future Biden impeachment or another more forceful response against the administration.”

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that while a Biden impeachment is “not going to happen,” the midterm elections may turn the tide.

“There isn’t going to be an impeachment,” McConnell said, “but I think [Democrats] have a good chance of a very bad election next year.”
