Hello again Americans,

New photos have surfaced from Hunter Biden’s laptop, and their existence may cause some to cast doubts on President Joe Biden’s claims that he never discussed overseas business dealings with his son Hunter. One of the pictures apparently shows Joe and Hunter Biden with Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, two other executives, and Hunter’s associates. The timestamp coincides with a scheduled 8:30 a.m. “Breakfast with Dad – NAVOBS,” according to an email from the hard drive, an apparent reference to the U.S. Naval Observatory, which is the vice president’s residence.

Recent data from the IRS shows who received money from the third round of stimulus checks, and there are some surprises. Some people with adjusted gross incomes above $200,000 received payments. The IRS reports 127,751 payments went to taxpayers in that category, for a total of $392.3 million. This comes as a surprise since there were income requirements in order to be eligible for a check.

In Texas, an Army soldier who shot and killed a protester after driving into a crowd demonstrating against police violence last summer has been indicted on a murder charge. Sgt. Daniel Perry’s attorney, Clint Broden, said the soldier was working for a ride-sharing company and acted in self-defense after a protestor pointed a gun at him. Broden issued a statement Thursday expressing disappointment in the indictment and confidence that Perry would be acquitted.

The Guinness World Records confirmed that 112-year-old Emilio Flores Márquez is the world’s oldest man. Márquez says that the trick to a long life is eschewing hate and anger and surrounding oneself with love. “My father raised me with love, loving everyone. He always told me and my siblings to do good, to share everything with others. Besides, Christ lives in me,” he said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named Republican Rep. Liz Cheney to a new committee on the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Rep. Bennie Thompson will lead the panel, which will investigate what went wrong around the Capitol when hundreds of Trump supporters broke into the building. Cheney said she was “honored” to serve on the committee and that her duty is to the Constitution. “And that will always be above politics,” Cheney said.

Yet another stash of secret Ghislaine Maxwell files will be unsealed later this month, in accordance with a federal judge ruling. The documents in question were filed in the Manhattan federal suit brought against Maxwell by Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre in 2015. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty and has appealed five times to be released from jail pending trial — but each effort has been rejected. The documents are set to be released in mid-July.

Stay safe,
