“20 and odd” Angolans, kidnapped by the Portuguese, arrive in the British colony of Virginia and are then bought by English colonists. The arrival of the enslaved Africans in the New World marks a beginning of two and a half centuries of slavery in North America.

Good Morning Middle Americans,

We are starting to get the feeling that Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and anyone else who was watching the DNC last night – aren’t big fans of President Trump’s. But what has been  most obvious about the DNC’s whole virtual streaming spectacle – is the contrast between Democrats and Republicans and their different understanding of the way our federal government works. This has been laid bare by the Democrats own words. So please keep reading because this is so important as you consider the choices you will make when you vote for president, of course, but also Congress, Senate and on down the ballot in November. The elections in your local district – will, and are by design – supposed to have a much bigger impact on your life, than the person who sits in the White House. So when we take a closer look at the words of President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Kamala Harris from – we see that they believe the answer to all our problems goes through Washington D.C.. Yet they claim president Trump is the tyrant, the facist.

We’ve a lot heard less about Joe Biden’s successes this week than President Trump’s failures.

President Obama chose to open, as has everyone else with a rebuke of President Trump, not an endorsement of Biden.

That’s because Democrats are like a person who fears shadows. Everytime they turn around they choose to see the shadow first, and for Democrats and never-Trumpers – that shadow is President Trump. Not the actual root causes of the problems facing this country, many of which can be traced directly back to Democrat-led legislation signed by President Clinton.  If Democrats paid half as much attention to what’s actually happened over the three plus years, despite their resistance – as they do to the president’s twitter feed – they would have realized that the momentum of the 2020 race is not on their side. Trump is closing on Biden in key battleground states. The social justice movement spurred by George Floyds death has opened a pandora’s box of problems, and peeled back the thin veneer of Antia and Black Lives Matter true objectives. We can blame BLM all we want. We can talk about Antifa’s ties to Marxism. But what matters more – are the Democrats, like Elizabeth Warren,  who embrace BLM, without condemning the violence the group’s radical elements are perpetuating. This shows us that they don’t care about the impact that rioting and looting are having on the communities they claim to represent. Either that or they are powerless to stop it.  But it sure does seem like they’d rather let these cities burn than take responsibility for their own failed leadership in Seattle, Portland Chicago, New York and Philadelphia where President Obama was last night. They’d rather sit back and wait until after the election to accept the help that President Trump has offered. Keep in mind, these people honestly believe – that only Washington can fix America’s deeply rooted racial problems or any other problem for that matter. But they don’t want to acknowledge their philosophy hasn’t worked – ever. They’ve been trying the same solutions for decades. You know, about as long as Joe Biden and the Clintons have been in politics.

Despite what we heard from President Obama last night, we don’t live in a Democracy, we live in a Constitutional Republic. The elections, like so much of our government, are supposed to be based on Federalism. The authors of the Constitution wanted to make sure that we were not ruled by a king from some far-off land. And that we are not susceptible to mob rule, the tyranny of the masses.

We have stories about last nights speeches from Mr. Obama, Mrs. Clinton and Kamala Harris below and President Trump’s REACTION. Also, we have two of the most 2020 headlines we ever seen, the LA Mayor has shut off power at a Tik Tok star’s LA Mansion and Kanye West Organizers reportedly got rough with local elections volunteers in Wyoming.

Democrats Nominate Harris for Vice President, as Obama Lashes Trump

(NY Times) – Democrats formally nominated Senator Kamala Harris for the vice presidency on Wednesday night, placing a woman of color on a major party ticket for the first time and showcasing the diversity of race and gender they believe will energize their coalition to defeat President Trump in the fall.

The third night of the party’s national convention also featured a striking repudiation of Mr. Trump by former President Barack Obama, a break with the presidential custom of not criticizing a successor by name. Mr. Obama praised Mr. Biden’s character, contrasting it with Mr. Trump’s, and directed a portion of his remarks to voters undecided about whom they will vote for, or whether they will vote at all.

“Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job, because he can’t,” Mr. Obama said, growing emotional at points as he talked about the challenges facing the country and democracy. “The consequences of that failure are severe. One hundred seventy thousand Americans are dead. Millions of jobs gone.”

Trump Attacks Obama and Harris Speeches in Real-Time, All-Caps Tweets

(Politico) – President Donald Trump did not hide that he was closely following the third night of the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, firing off tweets in real time as former President Barack Obama and Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris delivered withering criticisms of his presidency.

The first of Trump’s all-caps broadsides came less than 10 minutes into his predecessor’s speech, as Obama unleashed a blistering attack on Trump’s presidency and his character.

“HE SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, AND GOT CAUGHT!” Trump accused Obama, repeating a false conspiracy theory stemming from the FBI’s surveillance of Trump campaign associates in the run-up to the 2016 election.

Trump fired off a second tweet seven minutes later, implying that there was more to the story behind Obama waiting until his former vice president, Joe Biden, cleared a crowded field of Democratic White House hopefuls before endorsing him.

LA Mayor Shuts Off Power After Tik Tok Star’s House Party

(CBS Los Angeles) – Power was authorized to be shut off Wednesday at a Hollywood Hills home, reportedly belonging to TikTok personality Bryce Hall, after multiple large gatherings were held at the property.

Mayor Eric Garcetti released a statement Wednesday after authorizing the city to disconnect utility service at the house following multiple warnings after several large parties were thrown, violating public health orders.

“With more than 2,000 Angelenos — and over 170,000 Americans — lost to COVID-19, we need every resident to undertake critical safeguards to stop the spread of this virus. That includes not hosting or attending parties that put themselves, their neighbors, and many others at risk,” Garcetti said.

Police Called after Kanye Signature Gatherers Get Aggressive with Poll Workers

(Casper Star Tribune) – Laramie County law enforcement was called to polling places and the county clerk there fielded more than a half-dozen reports Tuesday of staffers for Kanye West and another independent candidate acting aggressively and apparently violating state law at nearly every polling location in the capital county.

The Laramie County clerk said that there were repeated reports of signature gatherers for West and fellow independent candidate Brock Pierce being too close to polling stations across the county and that the staffers were aggressively pursuing voters. Clerk Debra Lee said her office fielded multiple calls from six of the county’s seven locations, including one in Pine Bluffs, population 1,100. In some cases, Lee said, the signature gatherers were combative with poll workers after they told the staffers they needed to move away.
