U.S. Shatters Coronavirus Record with Over 77,000 Cases in a Day

(Reuters) – The United States shattered its daily record for coronavirus infections on Thursday, reporting more than 77,000 new cases as the number of deaths in a 24-hour period rose by nearly 1,000, according to a Reuters tally.

The loss of 969 lives was the biggest increase since June 10, with Florida, South Carolina and Texas all reporting their biggest one-day spikes on Thursday.

More than 138,000 Americans have died from COVID-19, a toll that experts warn will likely surge following recent record spikes in case numbers and an alarming rise in hospitalizations in many states.

Mary Trump to Rachel Maddow: Yes, I Heard My Uncle Donald Use the ‘N-Word’

(The Daily Beast) – In her new best-selling book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, and in subsequent interviews, Mary Trump has said it was “sort of normal” while growing up to hear her family use the “n-word” or anti-Semitic expressions. But in a new interview with Rachel Maddow set to air Thursday night on MSNBC, she went even further, confirming that she personally has heard her uncle, President Donald Trump, use that language.

Maddow asked Mary Trump if Donald “was an exception” to that in her family or she ever heard him say the “n-word” specifically. “Of course I did,” the president’s niece replied. “And I don’t think that should surprise anybody given how virulently racist he is today.”

Terry Crews Cites Nick Cannon’s Racist Anti-White Comments: I Told Ya So

(The Daily Wire) – Actor Terry Crews essentially gave the world a big “I told ya so” on Wednesday after he was lambasted by the Left, including CNN host Don Lemon, for challenging their racial narrative and warning Black Lives Matter activists against slipping into “black supremacy” ideology.

The former NFL player used his own words to caption a video of entrainer Nick Cannon spewing anti-white rhetoric, which Crews said was rooted in the kind of ideology he warned against.

Alex Trebek Says He’s ‘Feeling Great’ in Latest Health Update

(CNN) – This legendary game show host was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but is continuing to beat his odds. Who is Alex Trebek?

The beloved host of “Jeopardy!” provided fans with an update on both his health and the show on Thursday. And like many other men during the pandemic, he appears to have grown out his beard.

“I’m doing well,” Trebek said in a video posted to the show’s official Twitter account. “I’ve been continuing my treatment and it is paying off though it does fatigue me a great deal. My numbers are good. I’m feeling great.”
