An American Airlines flight from New York to California was diverted to Denver after a passenger assaulted a flight attendant.
According to American Airlines, the passenger was removed from the flight and taken into custody. Witnesses told a local media outlet that the man had been drinking, and one witness said the person “didn’t want to wear a mask.”
“[This] man punched a female flight attendant breaking her nose, sending her to the hospital,” the witness said.
“The individual involved in this incident will never be allowed to travel with American Airlines in the future, but we will not be satisfied until he has been prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” the airline said. “This behavior must stop, and aggressive enforcement and prosecution of the law is the best deterrent.”
