‘Senator Karen’: Elon Musk Gets Into It with Elizabeth Warren

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) had a heated exchange on Twitter after the progressive lawmaker fired shots at Musk after being named Time Magazine Person of the Year.

Warren tweeted a link to an article about Musk’s accolade, along with the caption: “Let’s change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else.”

The lawmaker is likely referring to leaked IRS data that shows Musk didn’t pay any federal income taxes in 2018.

The eccentric billionaire wrote a series of direct replies to Warren’s tweet. In his first reply, he wrote, “And if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year.”

Musk then posted a link to an article from Fox News entitled “Elizabeth Warren is a fraud — Her lies about being Native American disqualify her from presidency, Senate” along with the caption: “Stop projecting!”

“You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason,” Musk wrote.”

“Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen,” he wrote, along with a prayer hands emoji.

The interaction was apparently on Musk’s mind a few days later.

“For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year,” he wrote.

How are you doing America,

Pro-tax millionaires called on the rich to pay more in taxes. The group, which call themselves Patriotic Millionaires, launched protests in New York and Washington on Tax Day. They even made stops in front of billionaire Jeff Bezos’ homes. Look at that, progressive millionaires wanting to see billionaires pay more.

When CDC announced that fully-vaccinated Americans can ditch theirs masks, most people rejoice. Imagine, the freedom after more than a year of covering your face. However, there are vaccinated people who want to continue to wear masks not only because they get used to them but also like the extra protection.

US Airlines may start to require passengers to step on the scale at the airport before boarding a flight. According to FAA rules, the carrier’s weight and balance has to be within permissible limits for the aircraft. This issue has been raised because obesity rate in the U.S. increases.

Workaholics, listen up! Take it easy and find time for some R & R. A UN study found out that working too hard or too lone — more than 55 hours a week — is a ‘serious health hazard.’ It can increase your risk of dying from heart disease or stroke. And the rate is higher among men.

Elon Musk became the richest person in the world early in January, surpassing Jeff Bezos, after Tesla’s share price soared. He dropped to being the 2nd richest person after a few days. On Monday, Musk lost his spot to LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault as Tesla’s shares fell again.

Ariana Grande is married. The pop star and Dalton Gomez exchanged vows at her home in Montecito over the weekend with less than 20 people in attendance. Grande’s rep described the affair as “tiny and intimate.” Congratulations, lovebirds!

German scientist predicts a man named ‘Elon’ will rule over Mars

Happy Saturday, America!

In a Twitter post, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared a photo of a book penned by German scientist and engineer Wernher von Braun in 1952, predicting that there would be a man that would rule Mars named ‘Elon.’ Seemed like von Braun saw the future at that time. Interesting stuff!

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY.) said that the GOP is on the verge of whether staying an honorable and principled party, or destroying itself and becoming Trump’s party. The embattled congresswoman is being attacked by his fellow partymates for standing against the former president’s unsubstantiated claims and conspiracies. All the best, Madam!

In a research spearheaded by the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, it was found out that the US has over 900,000 fatalities due to the COVID-19. The official count of over 500,000 was inaccurate since most of the fatal cases were only confirmed through hospital records, or if the person is confirmed to have contracted the virus.

Over the years, the demand for drones for military weaponry has grown not only in the US but across the world. Other countries like China and Turkey have tapped the use of this device as part of their military advancement. Governments must do something to regulate weaponizing drones.

A new study showed that almost half of Americans believed that they are a better individual than any people they know. In fact, about eight out of 10 people thought that they are a good person. Seems like humility is not in everyone’s DNA?

During their match’s press conference, Floyd Mayweather and YouTuber Logan Paul had their pre-battle wherein the latter snatched the former’s hat, and they ended in a physical scuffle. While many say that it was scripted just to gain more publicity for their upcoming fight, I don’t know whether the bout itself would be interesting to watch.
