J.K. Rowling Received Death Threats After Being Doxxed By Trans Rights Activists

Well-known author J.K. Rowling revealed that she’s received death threats after a group of trans rights activists showed up at her house and publicly leaked her address.

“Last Friday, my family’s address was posted on Twitter by three activist actors who took pictures of themselves in front of our house, carefully positioning themselves to ensure that our address was visible,” the Harry Potter author wrote on Twitter.

According to Forbes, the three individuals who posted up in front of Rowling’s home did so in support of the annual International Transgender Day of Remembrence, which memorializes transgender and nonbinary people murdered each year.

“I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out,” Rowling wrote. “Perhaps – and I’m just throwing this out there – the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us.”

Rowling has been the subject of controversy since 2019 when she declared her support for activist Maya Forstater, who said “men cannot change into women,” and “it is unfair and unsafe for trans women to compete in women’s sport.”

Since then, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson played Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in the film series, have publicly criticized Rowling for her statements.
