Washington Post won’t publish Trump’s ‘inflammatory’ response to Jan. 6 report

The Washington Post refused to publish former President Donald Trump’s response to its thorough, three-part investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, citing the statement’s “unrelated, inflammatory claims.”

The Post report detailed events before, during, and after Jan. 6, ultimately finding that law-enforcement officials turned a blind eye to warnings ahead of the events.

A spokesperson for Trump, Taylor Budowich, provided a statement to the Post. The outlet said it was “a lengthy written response that included series of unrelated, inflammatory claims that The Post is not publishing in full.”

The outlet noted that Trump’s statement said he “greatly objected” to the findings, labeling it as “fake news” and that the rioters at the Capitol were “agitators not associated with President Trump.”
