January 1, Federal courts implement new COVID-19 restrictions

In an ironic turn of events, some individuals who are going to federal court to challenge school mask mandates will be required to wear masks during the proceedings.

“The whole situation is very ironic,” said Sigal Chattah, who is representing two parents in a lawsuit that challenges a mask mandate ordered by Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak.

Nevada residents are not the only ones impacted by this ironic situation. In Florida, Lucas Wall is suing the CDC and several airlines over the mask mandates. His lawsuits argue that the requirement is discriminatory against those whose medical conditions preclude them from wearing masks.

“It’s completely preposterous that someone who is suing to overturn a mask mandate and medically can’t wear a mask would be ordered to go into court wearing a mask to argue his case against mask mandates,” Wall said.
